Although Almutahida has only been trading in Iraq since the beginning of 2019, we have been in the Iraqi market for more than 10 years in one form or another. We are committed to providing high quality plastic packaging to the beverage industry in the region. Together, Almutahida and Alhemma are the largest producers of PET preforms in Iraq, with an annual production of more than 55,000 metric tons and a customer base of more than 70 bottlers of water, juice, carbonated soft drinks and edible oil. Other products include closures, with new Stretch Film and PET sheet planned and we are constantly adding new products to our portfolio according to market needs.
With the enormous potential growth of the Iraqi market as well as the Middle East region, combined with our constant market share growth, we see the exponential success of Almutahida and Alhemma continuing well into the future. To achieve this growth, while ensuring sustainability we are continuously investing in innovation through equipment and people.

Plastic products offer significant advantages over other materials in the packaging industry, we must however keep the environmental impact of these products in mind. Awareness of the environment and our effect on it, is justifiably becoming an important global topic. As such, we are working to not only reduce our effect on the environment through process efficiencies, but also by engaging with stakeholders to actively drive the recycling of our products.
